What do you think?
I am sitting here in my sunroom, finishing up my morning devotions and thinking about what I want to write about and share with all of you this morning. As I sit here thinking and looking out the windows, I notice how the sun is shining thru the woods behind my house and thru the windows into my sunroom. The sun is creating beautiful patterns on the grass in the yard and the floor of the room. It makes me think about creation.
I think about creation a lot….
I specifically think about the colors of creation. I like to take walks during my lunch breaks. When I am walking, I use that time to communicate with God. I find myself soaking in my surroundings and talking to and thanking God for His amazing creation. I know a lot of people do not believe in creation BUT, I honestly believe there is no other explanation for this beautiful earth on which we live.
What if??
The grass was purple and the sky was brown? The leaves on the trees and the flowers were black? The trees were orange? The oceans were red? Night was day and day was night? I know it sounds silly but it is something to think about. For me, I think all the colors would be just like that, all mixed up if the earth came into existence any other way than God creating this earth.
When I am out, I think about how the vivid blue sky with its billowy white clouds reaches down to meet the green of the fields or the dark green leaves of the trees. How the different bright colors of the spring flowers speckle the fields or a neighbor’s yard. How the fall leaves change to the perfect colors of orange, yellow and red in the fall and how the wind sounds when it rustles through the leaves. How the warmth of the sun can feel so good on your skin. I love the ocean and I think it is amazing how God created the oceans to be different colors, depending on where you are in the world.
This earth on which we live did not just happen into existence. It was created by our awesome and amazing Creator, God. He loved us so much, He wanted us to have this beautiful earth to live in, look at and enjoy. He knew just the right colors for His creation.
I encourage you today to go outside and take in your surroundings and thank God for his creation. Be thankful everyday for this beautiful earth on which we live and that God loved us so much, He wanted to share it with us.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth
